Hello Dear Readers,
As I’ve written in the bio tab, my name is Jolie Dubriel. I am from a small town in Louisiana where everyone knows everyone. I went to school where the halls were sections for graders. I had the same teachers as my older sister and brother. I am the youngest of three children. We had a decent childhood. Mom worked hard for us and my dad was mostly out of the picture. I may touch on that at a later date cause my dad is another post. Even with the drama and a few troubles, we had a childhood. We didn’t in town but on a farm with cows. Yes, I’m country born and bred. I can look out my window and see cows. Cows everywhere which is fine cause they do nothing but eat, sleep and poop so nothing special.
Cows aside we played outside and climbed trees. I loved using my imagination as a child cause it was always better than the reality of being away from the outside world. The news wasn’t crazy as it was now, I remember celeb gossip was paramount and 9/11. I was in the 6th grade when that happened. The sub teacher turned on the television to a smoking tower, a plane going into another, people jumping out of the building and the collapse of the buildings. It was crazy then as it was now. I recommend during this time is to TURN OFF THE TV watch something that gives you hope and inspires you. If you like the quiet, sit in the quiet. Taking a walk is always good and picking up a book. My favorite books growing up were Fairy tales. I loved reading the Adventures of Alice in Wonderland, The Wizard of Oz, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe along with few comic books here and there namely Spider-man.
It wouldn’t be shocking that my published book is a fairy tale, I love them. They have history and lessons to take away from. In these blogs, I will take the time to break down my own story that has been poured on the page of the published work. I hope that you will be interested in reading and enjoying this blog. Thank you for reading. You may comment here and follow me on Instagram, my Facebook page, or TikTok (jdubriel31). If you have any questions for me, see my contact page. Thank you again and God Bless
Jolie
